RSV Vaccine information

RSV campaign to promote uptake of new vaccine

We have recently launched a campaign to promote the new Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination to eligible audiences in Wales.

The campaign is targeting pregnant women from 28 weeks to term and adults turning 75 up to the age of 79.

How you can help

We know that the public have a high level of trust in the information they receive from health care professionals in settings such as GP surgeries, hospitals, and pharmacies.

As part of the campaign, we have produced a number of materials and digital assets that can be used in primary care settings to highlight the new vaccine to patients. These include:

  • A digital screen
  • A4 Poster
  • Social media graphics
  • Older Adults: EngCym
  • Pregnant women RSV vaccine: Eng | Cym
  • Pregnant women All vaccines: Eng | Cym
  • Two videos
  • A midwife to midwife video that aims to increase confidence in health care professionals talking to patients about vaccinations in pregnancy

and

  • A midwife to patient video, which provides information on the RSV vaccine as well as the other vaccinations in pregnancy and can be given out by health care professionals to patients.

All of the above is available to you through your health board communications team, and anything you can do to use these and help inform the public about the vaccination would be very much appreciated.

Patient facing printed materials such as posters and leaflets can also be ordered (free of charge) from:  Imiwneiddio / Immunisation
